Yes, I was not too happy with the early version, but the new 64bit-version is great. It´s not just another recreation of the 1176 - it´s a class of its own, but always 1176-inspired. It´s like an old URE* on steroids! That means, you can´t simply translate well known 1176-classic settings to this plugin, because there are much more variations and possibilities. Would be fine if it weren't for two things: the output knob affects the volume of the dry signal, making NY-style compression impossible; and the input knob doesn't have enough range so it compresses hard very quickly
NY Compression/Parallel Compression is done by routing your main track through a sidechain with the compressor set 100%.
Analog Devices creates some really good sounding and functioning plugins. Thanks so much for Fetish!

Once I understood how it works..I am pleased with this plugin. It works different than a 1176 hardware. Bus it works really well for me.!!

Just can't get it to sound soft no mater what. Needs redesign. AO comps all seem to sound the same from what I've tried.

Very sorry to say this: This is not(!) a 1176 inspired plugin in any way. The GUI is just a fake. It's actually pretty good. Not perfect, but it nulls Stillwell's Rocket down to about -50db RMS and around -20 peak. Which is pretty nice for a free VST. Good work, all things considered.

A very subtle compressor. Something you'd use more for adding some slight colour or tightening up an already rather compressed signal than smashing down on a sound. Sounds great on drums and bass and keeps them very dynamic, but it's definitely quite limited in its uses. (Not sure how faithful any of this is to the actual units, as I haven't ever used them, so I'm judging based on its own merits.)

IMHO... Awful. Worst 1176 clone (?), or i'd say this is so far a worst compressor plugin i've tried. The GUI is lifeless, now i know a 3D GUI doesn't always mean something. The parameter in correlation to it's sound/function is confusing. Not able to get a good sound from it no matter what i do. Only can stand hearing this plugin not more than 6 minutes.
To speak about GUI first is strange for an audio gear. I like this GUI, it's subjective and doesn't change de sound. You have to consider the knobs Input like Treshold and Output like Make Up. I don't know if it sounds like the 1176, but I really love its sound, a lot.

Shortage ... it was possible to compare at least with antress Seven sign. There is no balance in the buttons - input/attack/release. I'm waiting for the corrected release
This compressor doesn't seem to do anything an FET compressor should. I mean, it's not obvious at all that it's even compressing anything. I nulled a track with full compression played with the dry track down to -80db. Either this VST is just badly designed or it is straight up broken.

AO is a recent company. The name is well choosen, because you understand that it is an obsession of analogic. I listen this compressor for 6 hours non stop, and I will continue 'till I go to bed. This compressor is joy. Superb sound. Thanks a lot AO !
When I said recent company, I meaned recent for me, I don't know them for so long. And I still listen to this comp, and their SSQ eq (not free), so nice.
