I'm doing a '50s inspired record. Gain dimed, Xformer on, Gray channel is the only digital preamp that is emulating the edge of breakup well. I discovered this gem when I was half way done. I went back and used it on all the vocal tracks. I am a really happy camper.

Nice analog sounding saturation. I use either this or Brit-Pre as a "pre-amp" first plug in in the chain on most tracks.

I used KONSOL on a drum loop in Wavelab 11 Elements. KONSOL worked fine so far but after rendering there was kind of a "fade in" at the beginnig of the loop. This way KONsOL is useless to me.

This is sick, it adds a simultaneously brash (in a pleasing way) hi end but a warm deep low end to any bus or track. The oversampling makes it a go too for me if I want an analogue desk tone.

KONSOL truly adds some depth and "board" warmth to your 2buss and creates a professional sounding mix in under 20 minutes.

Really like the layout and functionality and the 2 band eq is something that ALL plugin companies should have on their NLM's! Donation worthy for sure

Very impressed and I have compared it to the "Big boys" analog summers and I lean towards this one the most!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to build this beast of a vst!!! The onboard 2 band eq is brilliant!

Super chunky. Seems like one of the more useful of the plugins of this type. At times you'll find it's too fat and that a more neutral saturation plugin does a better job. Gray adds a slightly shrill fuzz. Blue is less fuzzy and nicely fat. Black is the most clean and neutral of the three settings. Unfortunately it seems to be quite processor intensive so I'm inclined to not use it too often...

Just revisited this. Same thoughts as before. Very good tones. CPU usage very high.

After adding this listen closely. It add some natural analogue warmth and subtle clarity. I use it on the master. This VST offers a door to bring you closer to professional sounds.

I love this plugin. Out of all the ones I have downloaded this has been by far the one I used the most. It has multiple uses. For me it has saved so many dead tracks without having to do a bunch of work. I'm so glad that I have found it. I'm so glad you made it.

This is something I put on literally every single channel. All of em. You aren't gonna get any crazy sounds out of this, but it's very warm and natural

This is one hell of a plugin! It immediately made a master mix sound head and shoulders above where it was, and yet remained subtle. I found it definitely has audible personalities with the various console types. I don't know what's going on under the hood, but it will be a staple and template for my new tracks. Many thanks to the developer - this is definitely worth donating.

The difference is the harmonics each type creates. To see what's going on just put a signal generator before KONSOL and let a 1 kHz sine wave pass trough. Put a frequency analyzer (e.g. SPAN) behind KONSOL. Switch between the 3 modes and you will see the difference. ;)

I'm so insanely grateful that AnalogObsession has made this equipment public, now the beginner bedroom producer holds the stuff that his dreams are made of right under his thumb. Almost promethian.

These pieces themselves are art. The dev name is not BS, there is real dedication to the sound of analog. Some of these end up ubiquitous, I use RARE in EVERYTHING. The plugs just get finer and then I hear he has gone full shareware on all of his work, free/by donation (please do if you can!),on his website. I must be dreamin'...

This another waves NLS into SSL style, it's sounds very cool and it's a great for mix & mastering dynamics eq enhancer to master glue mix buss, and glue multitracks together for more boost ambiance clarity to the mix loudness songs. Love this plugin 64 bit free.

But in simple terms what does it actually do?
Athan Mar 01 2020

It's basically A 3 channel strip with mic/line in preamps (1073 Neve, SSL and a classic tube) the more input you give the more coloration/warmth and saturation you get. You also have 2 eq knobs highs and lows.

Hi, new to mixing here. i'm trying trying to setup an "analog" workflow in my daw using plugin emulations (I use LPX btw), would this be something I can add to every track to emulate that warm tone of consoles? and if so how should I set it up.
Bill Aug 09 2021

If you use it on tracks do not engage the buss switch, only use that on the master buss

The eq is very musical sounding, but there is very little saturation even at max input.
Willi Jan 15 2021

Holy moly what? Did you really turn the upper knob all the way to the right??? At some point the saturation becomes a noticable clipper which cuts off all transients which usually leads to a very dirty, saturated sound.
