If you use Reaper, I recommend setting Tune to 0.000 so it doesn't sound so strange, and then fix the octave by adding the internal JS MIDI Transpose Notes plugin. Adding the Vsti midi Curve also helps a lot. Remember to add them on top of Flygel or they won't work. This piano has great personality, when you want something imperfect and beautiful, it's there.

As a real piano? Ghastly. The worst possible option. As an intentionally off-putting instrument? Marvelous.
After toying with it a bit, I've changed my mind. Not half bad if you're looking for a detuned piano! Reminds me of the piano at my grandparents house.
I approve of your opinion 100 percent. When your ear asks for an imperfect instrument like the world, this piano is interesting.

I think you mean the sound of the lid opening, it's just a brief effect.

Very Good for what it is, an old out of tune upright piano. Once I have sampled an old house piano, took me hours, and after I've lost the data. Then discovered Flygel and it does the job perfectly !
